Jabloteh tops Pro League; Connection whips Rangers

San Juan Jabloteh’s early season form continued yesterday evening at the Marvin Lee Stadium as the “San Juan Kings” moved to the top of the Digicel Pro League standings with a last gasp 1-0 win over North East Stars.

Yohann Caleb scored an 87th minute winner for the Jabloteh team, which leads Central FC by one point at the top of the table although the latter club has played one game less. Jabloteh and Central are the only unbeaten clubs in the local top flight league competition.

Defending champion DIRECTV W Connection did get its first win of the season though as the “Savonetta Boys” romped to a 4-0 triumph over St Ann’s Rangers at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

St Lucia international left back Kurt Frederick got his second goal of the season in the 35th minute while Trinidad and Tobago national under-20 winger Akeem Garcia got his first goal since joining Connection from Jabloteh. Jerrel Britto and Neil Benjamin Jr completed the score summary for comfortable league win.
