  1. Re: Lenox Kilgore’s daughter – Hi, I am happy to find this on the internet. Your father and mine were the very best of best friends. I have several photos of them together. The boys in weightlifting were all very close friends, they grew up together in the dirt backyards of Port Of Spain, Vernon Pamphile became my godfather and others the godfathers of my dad’s other children. Trinidad was not prepared for the wonder that these boys wrought, they scraped together every penny to go to the games and many did not go because they could not afford to miss their jobs and their families welfare. We had a very hard time when my father went away and if we did not have family, we would not have made it. Your father quit the game when my father left to go to the US. I have their last photograph together. I knew your father I remember standing next to my father and looking up at your father as they spoke together. He seemed so tall to me then, a giant, they were all giants. I am currently writing my memoirs of those days, and this has been an inspiration. WE are sisters, by something stronger than BLOOD.

  3. Dear Sir/Madam

On 4 January 2021 a decision in the case to extradite Julian Assange to the US is to be handed down in the UK.

This case affects all media and people.

It is a case brought on by the Trump Administration. We know that Joe Biden is the next President of the US. However, we do not know who the 2024 President of the US will be.

If Julian Assange is found guilty in the USA this would allow the US Government to selectively target media companies and people.

In the media and by people Julian Assange is defamed by many, his character has been assassinated, many untruths have been published about him and Wikileaks.
Please find False Statements about Assange and WikiLeaks, 2019 in resources on the defendwikileaks site.

In regards to damage to the US regarding the release of documents please find information from Day 1 of Court Case found on home page of defend.wikileaks.org

The Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) made dramatic claims of damage to the United States’ interests around the world, claiming that the unredacted publications put local informants at risk. But when it came time to detail that damage, the prosecutor ultimately had to admit that the US government has not been able to prove any deaths have resulted from WikiLeaks’ publications.

To better understand the case please find:

Defence Closing Submission, please make special note of parts 4 and 5. This is the main source document. It would be a good idea to download this document and save it as a pdf.

Julian Assange’s charges are a direct assault on Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech.

If Julian Assange is found guilty in the USA this would allow the US Government to selectively target media companies and people.

This is a prosecution under the Trump Administration.

When Trump became President, he effectively declared war on journalists and leaks.

Note above 2 paragraphs are in the Defence Closing Submission.

This not just a war on media, this is being able to control the media and people. As the US government could selectively charge people and organisations.

The USA case could take years, the next President of the USA may not have the power this precedent will set. The 2024 President may have this power.

Why this case affects the media and people:

The judge stopped the prosecution’s argument to ask if the act of “obtaining” the documents constitutes one of the conducts charged, does it follow that any person solely “obtaining” these kinds of documents — without the “aiding and abetting” elements — would be subject to prosecution as well? In other words, if a newspaper simply obtains documents without working with the source to do so, could that publication be unlawful?

Taken aback by the question, which throws light on the grave implications that this extradition would have on other journalists, the prosecutor took a moment to think and confer before finally saying: Yes, it would.

From Day 1 of Court Case

Therefore, if a person sent you classified information without authority then you too can be charged.

Many media ask for story ideas on their website. You have a platform which allows people to send you classified information whether you want it or not.

On social media people publish and share classified information without authority.

If google, facebook, youtube and twitter etc etc Section 230 protection from lawsuits over the content their users post on their platforms is taken away you kind of wonder whether they would shut it down from time to time. They don’t need money and they don’t need to sell their systems. You would assume if they were going to be held libel for their users posts, think about that, multi trillions of comments in websites, social media etc, they would just put it in to the hard basket and shut it down.

People all over the world are in possession of US classified information without authority. The collateral murder clip was shared by many not just by media but on social media by individuals.

    https://cosmicmagazine.com.au/news/roger-waters-invites-us-government-to-indict-him-of-treason-alongside-julian-assange/
If link is not working please google roger waters treason

This is being in possession of and publishing classified information without authority. Sharing it is publishing.

Every country has some other countries classified information without authority. In military conflict this is the norm. The government is always talking about spies. Spies are another country’s classified information.

    Aiding and Abetting

Media companies have platforms where people can submit story ideas.

Ethical media companies usually get a tip from someone, then they follow through to investigate whether the information has substance or is baseless. They are sometimes back and forward discussing the information to determine if this information is true or false. They ask for further evidence. This is aiding and abetting.

However, you do not have to aid and abet to be charged.

Trump, when running for President in 2016 said I love you Wikleaks I love you Wikileaks and was talking about the Wikileaks documents. You could only assume that he was in possession of classified information without authority.

This statement encouraged people all around the world to access classified information because the media circulated his statement and his statement was circulated on the internet by people.

Trump also encouraged people to supply him with classified information.

I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing

This could be seen as him encouraging others to do the same.

At the time Trump did not have any special Presidential Powers so no protection.

At a later date, Trump said, I know nothing about Wikileaks.

Why the US can selectively target media and people

Julian Assange has been charged, but many media around the world have not been charged.

Please see youtube clip: sbs dateline julian assange

    A possible scenario

If a media company does not support the President’s policies, the US government could look closely at this media company, and find they have published classified information and charge them. They could use their intelligence services to do this.

They could do the same thing against activist groups who do not agree with their policies. Search individuals to see if they have classified information and charge them.

If Trump had this power before the last election, which media companies would he have targeted.

Foreign people do not have protection

The Defence has said that Julian Assange cannot claim protection under the First Amendment of the Constitution because he is not a US National.

That would mean that all foreign media or a foreign person outside US would not have protection under the first amendment of the US Constitution.

The foreign media help build momentum on a subject.

Gone are the days when people just look at their national news. With the internet people are reading news from around the world.

The last US election got huge international exposure. People were somewhat able to assess both candidates for the Presidency.

Both climate change and covid have been able to build momentum internationally.

Anti-Vietnam Demonstrations, Apartheid all ended because of international damnation.

Human rights, civil rights, workers rights, women’s LGBT rights, women’s suffragette movement etc all built by international momentum.

What is needed at this time. Honest media exposure on this case.

The decision comes down on 4 January 2021. It would be nice if you published an article on 3 January or before that.

There has been a miscarriage of justice everywhere. Please find explanation of Sweden Affair:

Discussion from Jennifer Robinson and others regarding the case.

    • Please google UK judge Emma Arbuthnot conflict of interest Assange.

    • Also, Vanessa Baraitser did not allow Julian Assange to sit with his lawyers. Even though the Defence said they would allow it. He had to sit behind his lawyers in a dock surrounded by bullet proof case, they could not see him. When he wanted to comment on the case he had to try and get their attention, and when he spoke with the Defence Team, the Prosecution could hear. The bullet proof case is usually reserved for violent criminals. Julian Assange is not a violent criminal and he is not in great shape. Hardly a physical threat to anyone. Also, he’s facing 175 years in SAMs prison conditions it is outrageous he could not sit with his Defence Team. Comment of attendees says Baraitser was attentive when the Prosecution spoke and short mannered when the Defence spoke.

    • The Prosecution has had years to prepare for this case. The Defence team have only had limited contact with Julian while he has been in gaol. Also, the Prosecution have had access to Julian and his lawyers conversations while he was in the Ecuador Embassy

    • Assange breached his bail conditions. That’s because he sought asylum because he was in fear for his life. The UK could have had a hearing by videolink.

If you read the defendwikileaks documents and the Defence closing submission you will have a good understanding of this case.

Hopefully will be able to craft an article based on fact.

You all need to ask the question, what was Rohrabacher doing at the Ecuador Embassy. Out of the blue, fly all the way there. US intelligence services should have the recording of the conversation. Please see information regarding the Spanish case. Google Assange UC Global David Morales.

In the Spanish case a witness advised: US Intelligence Services also have all of Julian Assange’s legal papers and they spied on Julian Assange meetings with his lawyers. This is a breach of client lawyer privilege.

Please remember that Julian Assange revealed:

War crimes, crimes against humanity, torture, illegal surveillance, mass surveillance, environmental disasters etc.

Please remember that Wikileaks publishes some of what they get. When asked the question who would you prefer Trump or Clinton he said you are asking me would I prefer Cholera or Gonorrhea. They were not playing favourites.

Please look at all long clips of Julian Assange speaking

Media have used these techniques. However, with power comes great responsibility.

Media has big influence on how people think. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been labelled a “narcissist” by a judge Michael Snow. Julian Assange only said a handful of words. Judge Michael Snow, a man with no psychological training making an assessment on Assange based on Assange saying a handful of words.

    We must remember that

Human rights, civil rights, workers rights, women’s rights, LGBT rights, women’s suffragette movement etc all built by people protesting, fighting and dying for the rights you have today.

Sometimes you have to take on the establishment and make them accountable

Imagine if all countries did this

Imagine if every leader in every country was given a Red Notice by Interpol for being in possession of another countries classified information.

All foreign correspondents in other countries would be in danger.

All activist groups in other countries would be in danger.

This is a politically motivated case

Assange’s political views make him a prime target for this attack. Assange’s political views, as the defence explained, are pro-transparency, anti-war, and anti-imperialist — these views “inevitably bring him into conflict” with the US and UK governments and explain why he has been referred to as a “terrorist” and why, though before he was president, Donald Trump has called for his execution.

There was a decision under the Obama Administration in 2013 that there would be no prosecution; and, in fact, there was no prosecution under the Obama Administration for clear reasons of constitutional principle.

But the prosecution was then initiated under express pressure from President Trump, his political appointees, Mike Pompeo and Jeffrey Sessions in 2018, and greatly expanded under Attorney-General Barr in 2019.

The last three paragraphs came from the Defence Closing Submissions. There are more damning revelations in this document.

Why Julian Assange linked dishevelled when he was dragged out of the Ecuador Embassy. They took his shavers away a few weeks before he was dragged out

    https://www.medialens.org/2019/the-shaving-kit-manufacturing-the-julian-assange-witch-hunt/

If link doesn’t work please google shaving kit Assange witch hunt

He was then demonised by the media, the names they called him.

I do not seek a response to this email, just kindly action

    Yours sincerely,

    Elizabeth Rose

  4. “Celebrations & Folklore of Trinidad, West Indies” is a Solo Art Exhibition by Indra Persad Milowe. It will be held at Lynnfield Public Library, 18 Summer Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940 from: Monday 9th March until Saturday 9th May. 21 paintings of different shapes & sizes of canvas with multicolored & gold acrylic paints are childhood memories, from traditional Hindu Ceremonies, African Folklore & the array of many cultures of this diverse population.

A sneak peek into this Exhibition is: 1) JAB MOLASSIE: I was 6 years old and awakened to non-stop whistles in front of our new home in Curepe. I peaked out the window and saw a band of Blue Mas (players) outside our gate shouting, “Pay the Devil”. I was really scared and hid inside. My mother saw that “I was ‘fraid” (Trini Talk) so she gave me a handful of coins and said, “Throw the money for them”. They picked up all the coins, then moved over to the house next door. I was relieved! They leaped and pranced, smeared in blue paint and molasses, wearing wings, horns and wire tails while carrying pitch forks. They all had whistles in their mouths that dramatized their movements, and threatened to smear spectators unless they paid them off. Their dancing and performance were accompanied by men beating empty biscuit and oil cans. They had metal chains around their waists, symbolizing the slave trade that finally ended in the 19th century. The combination of molasses and soot on their faces and bodies, is a reminder of the arduous toil of the slaves in the fields, cutting the sugar cane and heating it over large fires to extract the molasses. Jab is the French patois for “Diable” (Devil), and “Molassie” is the French patois for “Melasse” (Molasses). This is known as a Devil Molasses Mas which is played annually in Trinidad and Tobago Carnival.

I am designing this painting for an “Art Installation” of a Carnival Band with players and musicians.

    2) BARAHE or CHATTI: When a boy or girl is born, this is a very popular Hindu Celebration. I was 7 years old when my cousin Vishnu was born in his parent’s bed at our grandparents’ home. It was held on the 12th day after his birth, the evening of this Celebration, many female guests arrived and were served delicious food and drinks. Afterwards we all sat around the baby on the floor, rejoicing while singing chutney, sohar songs and clapping. It was accompanied by the Dholak, hand drum & a Dhantal, metal rod. My aunt would stand up as she struck the Majeera, cymbals faster and faster, then everyone in the room got up to dance. The participation of friends and relatives, from both parents’ families emphasized the importance of birth in continuing lines and cementing family bonds.

  6. Good evening, I am requesting a video of the match #14 -UTT vs CLUB SANDO, that was played at UTT.
I am the person who asked for this tonight at the game.
Thank you for your assistance in advance.

  7. The efforts of fixin T&T to try to bring about the solutions to many political issues of the nation is very much appreciated. I have been like many other citizens living in far away places been writing to the Guardian newspaper or over 25 years querying some of the political decisions and other matters that occur there. I was hoping that someone in a position of authority would attempt to successfully correct so many wrongs. Sad to say I ended up as a voice in the wilderness.Things are more or less the same as they were when we set off 55 years ago on our independence, except of course many citizens of responsibility seem to have lost their morals and lack compassion.and are more interest in feathering their own nest at the expense of the poorer citizens. The latest political disturbance is reflected in a a copy of my letter below which have been sent to all the local newspapers in Trinidad.Whether this will be published your guess is as good as mine.Anyway I am most please to see that we have local citizens who are trying their hardest to put the nation back on the right track and try to curb the high rate of crime including corruption and political correctness . All I can say is keep up the good work.

    Dear Editor,

Our politics have now gone to dogs, or to put it another way we are now living with gutter politics. How can those in responsible positions of authority and the citizens of this nation allow the Prime Minister supported by the President to take such a bold and undemocratic decision to grant a position of political responsibility to a non- citizen of this nation when the rules and regulation of our constitution forbade such action. This is surely another step in the direction of a dictatorship
.In order to maintain our democracy and recognize and implement the procedures and rules of our constitution this high handed and outrageous action call for protest and demonstration by the public to halt this form of politics in this nation.
It is wrong and must be redressed and corrected otherwise our political future is going to be constantly maneuvered to suit those presently in the corridors of power.
It questions the ability of the PNM as an acceptable political movement to govern this democratic nation with true patriotism and devoted loyalty asis expected.

    Yours faithfully,
    G.A. Marques

  8. Hi Lasana,

    The Guardian just published a large piece on the use of data in Brexit and a shady company – Trinidad was apparently a trial ground – worth a follow up;

    https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/07/the-great-british-brexit-robbery-hijacked-democracy

    From the article;

“David said: “The standard SCL/CA method is that you get a government contract from the ruling party. And this pays for the political work. So, it’s often some bullshit health project that’s just a cover for getting the minister re-elected. But in this case, our government contacts were with Trinidad’s national security council.”

The security work was to be the prize for the political work. Documents seen by the Observer show that this was a proposal to capture citizens’ browsing history en masse, recording phone conversations and applying natural language processing to the recorded voice data to construct a national police database, complete with scores for each citizen on their propensity to commit crime.

“The plan put to the minister was Minority Report. It was pre-crime. And the fact that Cambridge Analytica is now working inside the Pentagon is, I think, absolutely terrifying,” said David.”

    Hope something comes of it,

    Best wishes,
Tom (Tiresais from the Soca Warriors forum)

  9. How WE re-imagine and construct a new relevant agro-processing industry.
will be determined by how WE treat with Caroni Green Ltd.

Because the importance of CGL is not about the future of one hundred low paying jobs and a few acres of peppers. It is about our ability as a nation to apply creative solutions to our problems, economic and otherwise. Terrence Farrell, who was chairman of the SERC, has offered the following five reasons for the immediate closure of Caroni Green Ltd.

    1. There are already highly competent manufacturers and exporters of pepper sauces in T&T (Matouk’s) and the rest of the Caribbean (Barons in St Lucia, Grace in Jamaica among others).

If one were to regularly apply the presence in any market or industry of existing businesses as a reason for not starting new ventures, no new or at least very few new businesses will ever see the light of day. In fact we would still be shopping in the neighbourhood corner shop. But just last week I visited a spanking new shopping centre in Chaguanas, which was opened despite the presence in that area of Price Smart and many other existing strong competitors.
It is the natural order of commerce for new and refurbished or re-imagined competition to enter markets from time to time. Business history is replete with stories of new competitors disrupting old markets and industries. The growth of Walmart and Amazon are international examples. The growth of malls and shopping centres locally is witness to the fact that the phenomenon applies equally to our micro markets.
I also believe that the competency of existing manufacturers and exporters needs to be challenged by new entries from time to time lest they become stagnant and fossilized.
In the case of pepper sauces, current manufacturers cannot lay claim to any significant exploitation of foreign markets in whicht he category is rapidly expanding.
WE also should not include other Caribbean producers in our equation except as competitors to be challenged.

    2. There is nothing the Government through Mr Sharma and his team of lawyers and accountants can teach farmers about growing and packing peppers.

If CGL was originally staffed with a team of lawyers and accountants rather than visionary entrepreneurial thinkers, food and agricultural scientists, that was an original sin of the government planners at the time that can be easily corrected.

    3. Exporting raw peppers to be processed elsewhere makes little economic sense; it is easy and better to add value by producing the sauces.

That is precisely the point I belaboured in my earlier short presentations. Here are just 3 quotes.
    i) “ everybody would be too busy trying to come up with practical solutions (in 90 days) to first create a profitable local resource based, pepper/hot sauce export industry, and then to go on extending the concepts WE discovered, to cocoa and coffee and coconuts etc etc.”
ii) “WHAT special advantages T&T has, if we could only forget the old plantation economy model, of exporting raw materials and think of adding value to local resources to meet international demand?”
iii) “WE remain stuck in the old imperialist plantation economy mindset, which allowed CGL, despite it’s clearly stated Mission and Vision statements, to boast about exports of a little bit of raw peppers (US$100,000 at present value) as an achievement to be heralded.

    4. Caroni Green had spent a few million US$ to generate $700K in export revenues; it is only when you are spending taxpayers money that managers do that kind of thing. If it were their own capital they would surely have acted differently. The true economic cost of CGL output would be even higher if the economic cost of the state lands they were using was taken into account.

This is the result of planning and oversight mistakes and shortcomings, all original sins of government planning, budgeting and oversight.
An intelligently created “reimagined” privatized food processing industry will not have access to “taxpayers money”.

    5. There are roles for Government in support of better agricultural practices, better international marketing, protection of Intellectual Property, dealing with praedial larceny, providing access roads and assisting global market access where there are non-tariff and other barriers to trade.

These are precisely the roles that the industry will need Government to perform, perhaps with emphasis on “better international marketing and protection of Intellectual Property; but also with one other factor that has been missing from the equation for success. The most important role of government would be to provide the impetus, the climate and the opportunities for citizens to meet, re-think, re-imagine and re-create the model for a free enterprise, commercial agro processing industry.

I therefore beg to disagree with Dr. Farrell. I humbly submit that Privatization, not closure, is the only solution for a small open economy like ours. What needs to be cooperatively resolved is what new forms the privatization would take. Contrary to the view of a business leader, whose gut response was, “Who is going to buy that? (Caroni Green Ltd). Privatization does not only mean selling the company. The business leader is right. Nobody will buy CGL as it exists now.
It requires from all concerned, government, entrepreneurs, workers, the public that we adopt new ways of, operating and cooperating; and especially new visionary thinking from those in government, business, labour and academia whom we elect and select to lead us,
In this regard, the proposal advanced by the CGL workers should be given careful and respectful consideration in determining the development of a workable solution.

Are WE willing as a FREE people to try new ventures and possibly fail, or are we prepared to continue doing the same things we have done for 55 years of independence and keep expecting to get different results.

We could make it if we try, just a little harder” — Calypso Griot Stalin
