Morvant Caledonia United registered the first win of the 2017 domestic season last night as the “Eastern Stallions” came from behind to edge Club Sando 2-1 at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.
Ex-Caledonia captain Akim Armstrong made his competitive debut for Sando who scored first through another new signing, Tyrone Charles. But Armstrong’s former teammates had the last laugh as Kerry Daniel equalised while Guyana international forward Sheldon Holder grabbed the winner in the second half.
Defending champions Central FC faced San Juan Jabloteh in the second match of the Couva doubleheader but neither team got on the score sheet as the affair finished goalless.
Local action continues on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evening with fixtures in the Pro League and Trinidad and Tobago Super League competitions.
