What football ground has the best vibes? What venue do you have the most fun at during the SSFL season?

This is Question Three in our Subway challenge to Wired868 readers, and there is a $100 gift certificate in it for you.

Here is how to take part: give us a response between 80 and 300 words on our sport questions; feel free to think outside of the box; be fresh! The top answers will be shortlisted by Wired868, with the winner selected at random. There will be one winner per question.

You can justify your response using whichever metric you choose—but you have to explain your choice.

So far, Tisha-Marie Dayal explained why St Benedict’s College and Naparima College are the teams to beat for the 2026 season. And Celeste Williams told us why St Benedict’s College winger Elijah David is her favourite player in school’s football.

Now, it’s your turn… Which is your favourite ground—and why?

  1. Here’s a tightened, cleaned-up version of your statement — keeps your voice and message, but with proper flow and punctuation:

When we think of the SSFL, we often think of the Premiership Division — all the glitz and glamour of venues like Serpentine Road, Lewis Street, Mucurapo Road, Westmoorings, and Gordon Street, et al.

What we often overlook are the lower division schools in the Championship, U20 Senior Division, and even the Girls Championship that don’t get the rightful publicity they deserve.

I am Fyzabad born and bred and a true supporter of Fyzo talent. I attended and played for Fyzabad Anglican Secondary in the late 90s, and I was a member of the coaching staff of Fyzabad Secondary during their stint in the Premiership back in 2015. I would say there is no more iconic SSFL venue than the now derelict Petrotrin Sports Club in Fyzabad. Sadly, it is no more.

The new venue is now the community-centric Delhi Road Recreation Ground, aka D’Gallows. It boasts historical significance — from the Black Power days to birthing many national team talents and SSFL legends.

It is heartening to see a revival of crowd support for Fyzo football, with hundreds at this venue. Parents, teachers, students, and the community come together to support our boys and girls weekly and daily, by the hundreds.

Where else would you find U14 and U16 games playing at 10 a.m. on a workday, attracting 200 to 300 people supporting, sans schoolmates? Boys U20 and Girls Championship teams have crowds of over 500 watching — so much so that members of the community have even benefited through enterprise, with fresh pies, pholourie, and other refreshments on sale.

It is truly a sight to behold that one community has this much love for student-athletes.

They say, “What good can come from Fyzabad?” I say, come for yourself and see… Fyzabad is Fyzo-good!

*Notable SSFL Lower Division Community Grounds I have visited over the years with similar attributes:*

    Guapo Recreation Ground, Point Fortin
    Guayaguayare Recreation Ground
    Bonasse Recreation Ground, Cedros
    Biche Recreation Ground
    Mayaro Recreation Ground
    Darren Ganga Recreation Ground, Barrackpore
    Palo Seco Secondary School
    Siparia West Secondary
