Justin Garcia, Jem Gordon snare top TTPFL prizes

Defence Force central defender Justin “Shiggy” Garcia was named the Player of the Season for the inaugural TT Premier Football League (TTPFL) competition at the awards ceremony last night.

Garcia, who beat Tiger Tanks Club Sando forward Nathaniel James and AC Port of Spain midfielder Duane Muckette to the prize, helped the Army/ Coast Guard combination to a league and cup double.

In the TTPFL Tier 2 competition, the top individual prize went to FC Phoenix forward Mickaeel Jem Gordon who was also instrumental in his team’s success.

Gordon got the nod ahead of FC Phoenix teammate and goalkeeper Duvaughn Daniel and QPCC FC midfielder Sean De Silva.


The following are the top individual performers in TTPFL Tier 2:

Goalkeeper of the season: Duvaughn Daniel (FC Phoenix)

Shortlisted goalkeepers: Dillon King (QPCC), Cleon John (Police FC)

Defender of the Season: Eric Charles (Petit Valley Diego Martin United)

Shortlisted defenders: Javon Williams, Jeremiah Bristol (both FC Phoenix)

Midfielder of the Season: Sean de Silva (QPCC)

Shortlisted midfielders: Bringsluck Nche (Petit Valley Diego Martin United), Trevin Caesar (FC Phoenix)

Forward of the Season: Mickaeel Jem Gordon (FC Phoenix)


Shortlisted forwards: Isaiah Leacock (Harlem Strikers), Jason Devenish (QPCC)
