Club Sando book Shield semifinal match-up with Martinique’s Lions

Tiger Tanks Club Sando are into the 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield semifinals after playing unbeaten through the group stage. Sando confirmed their place in the knockout stage yesterday with a 3-0 win over Aruban champions, SV Dakota at the SKNFA Technical Centre in Basseterre, Saint Kits and Nevis.

Flanker Kevon Williams put the Trinidad and Tobago Professional Football League (TTPFL) outfit ahead in the 12th minute, while second half items by forward Nicholas Dillon and substitute Isaiah Thompson sealed the victory.

Coach Cornell Glen’s troops have scored 16 unanswered goals in three matches at the 2023 Caribbean Club Shield so far. Dillon leads all scorers with four goals while Real Gill and Ezekiel Kesar have three apiece.

Club Sando will now battle Martinique’s Golden Lion from 7pm in Friday’s semifinal round with the winner qualifying automatically for a place in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup competition.


The Golden Lion also managed a 100% record in their group with 15 goals scored and one conceded from just two matches.
