Former Trinidad and Tobago national youth team goalkeeper coach Nigel Neverson died today after failing to recover from a stroke.
Neverson, a former St Benedict’s College schoolboy, represented Trinidad and Tobago at national youth level in the late 1980s and early 1990s. More recently, he worked as a goalkeeper coach for a raft of club and school teams and was registered in that role for Pro League club AC Port of Spain in the ongoing 2022 Ascension Tournament.
Neverson served as goalkeeeper coach for the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Under-17 Team during the tenure of Russell Latapy in 2016.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) expressed ‘deepest condolences’ to Neverson’s family.
