TTFA appoints Konstin as Futsal head coach, American replaces Morris at helm

Former United States Men’s National Futsal Team player Constantine Konstin has been appointed Trinidad and Tobago new Men’s National Futsal Team head coach and will lead the Soca Warriors at the 2020 Concacaf Futsal Championship from 1-10 May in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The Concacaf tournament features 20 teams from the confederation with the top four nations advancing to the Lithuania 2020 Fifa Futsal World Cup.

The participating nations are: Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sint Maarten, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and USA.

Konstin, who is also a FIFA and CONCACAF Futsal coaching instructor, coached the Trinidad and Tobago Under-18 Women’s Futsal Team at the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. The T&T women finished fourth in their five team group as they defeated Tonga 7-5 but were beaten by Thailand (14-0), Bolivia (5-0) and Spain (16-1) respectively.


Konstin replaces former Strike Squad captain Clayton ‘JB’ Morris who served as Men’s National Futsal Team head coach for the 2016 World Cup qualifying cycle. At present, Morris is assistant coach of the Boys’ National Under-15 Team.

Konstin’s technical staff comprises of Paul Decle (assistant coach), Dunstan Williams (assistant coach/goalkeeper coach), Marvin Driggs  (trainer), Brenton Bain (therapist), Stephen Bernard (equipment manager) and Nigel Roberts (manager).
