Trinidad and Tobago starlet Adasa Richardson grabbed a hattrick at Lewis Street, San Fernando today, as defending champions Naparima College kicked off their SporTT Premiership Division title defence with a 7-0 thumping of Trinity College (Moka).
Naparima had a bye for the first round of matches, although they did play in the SSFL Super Cup on Friday 11 September—when they whipped St Benedict’s College 6-0.

St Benedict’s, mind you, routed Trinity College 5-0 in midweek. So there might have been some degree of apprehension by the North Zone team, as they emerged from their dressing room in San Fernando.
“Naps”, with four players boasting international youth team experience in their starting team—Donovan Drayton Jr, Antonio Hills, Jeremiah Daniel and Richardson—certainly lived up to their billing, as they stormed to a two-goal lead inside the first half, through Drayton and Richardson.
Trinity did have their chances at the other end, with Malik Antoine and Andre Constantine both blazing efforts over the bar. But, for the most part, they were overrun by a talented Naparima outfit.

Leading 3-0 at the half, Naps did not let up—as they scored four more after the break, including one from super-sub, Malique Hinds.
The 7-0 result was the biggest win of the 2026 season thus far. However, it is Speyside Secondary who lead the standings at present, although they have played an extra game.
The eastern Tobago “Country Boys” dispatched St Anthony’s College 3-0 today on the Sister Isle, to maintain their unbeaten run of three games, which also includes a win over Signal Hill Secondary and a draw with Queen’s Royal College (QRC).
Attacker Riquelme Phillips, who spent the “football term” at Naparima College last year, was on the scorecard for newly promoted Speyside, along with Jordan Bernard and Kaseri Gray.
Elsewhere, St Mary’s College and Arima North Secondary made it two straight wins each, with triumphs over QRC and Hillview College respectively.

A stooping header by unattended flanker Josiah Hunte did the trick for St Mary’s, as they won 1-0 at the home of their bitter rivals. The “Saints” are yet to concede this season.
At Hillview, it was more of a shoot-out, in an eastern derby littered with individual errors. The “Dial Dynamos” never trailed though, and emerged 4-3 winners, courtesy of a Jediah David double and a goal apiece from Dimitre Jones and Jaeden Samuel.
Hillview, one of three newly promoted teams, got goals from Kemarley Pierre and Jahiem Mitchell, along with an Aaden Jones penalty.

At the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Omaleke Paul grabbed the game’s only goal as San Juan North Secondary shrugged off a midweek loss against Trinity College East to stun St Benedict’s College 1-0.
It was honours even at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, where Fatima College struck twice through Jonathan Mason and Jahaem Bailey, but couldn’t hold off a fresh-faced Presentation College (San Fernando) outfit—who responded with items from Aidan Sinanan-McDonald and forward Joshua Ryce.
And, on Mucurapo Road, newly promoted Mucurapo West Secondary tallied their first ever points in the top flight, as they held visiting St Augustine Secondary 2-2.

In today’s other Premiership match, Malick Secondary rebounded from a midweek loss to Fatima to whip Trinity East 6-2 at St Mary’s College ground on Serpentine Road.
Kisean Spence and Jaquan Phillip led Malick’s scorers with two goals apience, while Jakwon Howell’s late item—his second for the season—proved to be no more than a consolation item.
St Anthony’s and Hillview, who both lost today, square off from 3.40pm on Monday at a rescheduled game in Westmoorings. Hillview are then away to Fatima while St Anthony’s travel to St Mary’s on Wednesday.

It is an unenviable schedule.
On paper, Arima North versus Speyside at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar on Wednesday is a meeting between first and second place in the league. However, the game of the next round is arguably Naparima’s trip to Signal Hill as the two teams do a repeat of the National Intercol final—albeit in Tobago.
