SSFL 25: San Juan North’s fate still in balance, after draw away to Trinity (Moka)

San Juan North Secondary picked up a point on the road yesterday against Trinity College (Moka), but might feel they let two slip—as they again failed to hang on to a lead.

On Tuesday, the “San Juan Kings” conceded an injury time goal against Signal Hill Secondary in a 1-1 draw. Yesterday, Malique Marrast put his team ahead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, only for Trinity captain Anton Joseph to level scores before the interval.

And, try as they might, San Juan North could not manage a winning item.

The only East Zone team to win a top tier national title since the advent of the Premier Division era—when they claimed the National Intercol trophy in 2016—San Juan North’s fate is no longer in their own hands.

If two from the trio of Scarborough Secondary, St Augustine Secondary and Malick Secondary win their games in hand, San Juan North could be relegated.

The closing fixtures are arguably kinder to San Juan captain Daniel Lewis’ troops though:
