Corbin helps Sando to 4-0 Caribbean Shield win over Guadeloupe champs

Tiger Tanks Club Sando will target a second successive Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield win tomorrow, when they face Turks and Caicos champions SW Sharks FC from 5pm at Warner Park in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.

SW Sharks FC lost their opening affair 2-0 to Aruba champs SV Dakota on Friday evening and another defeat will mean they have no chance of advancing beyond the group stage.

The Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League (TTPFL) outfit swamped Guadeloupean champions Solidarité-Scolaire 4-0 on Friday evening, with all the goals coming in the second half.

The fixture was Trinidad and Tobago’s first appearance in a Caribbean Club match since 2018, due to a Concacaf ban for the island’s club licensing shortcomings and then Covid-19 restrictions.

Soca Warriors attacker Kadeem Corbin banged in the opener in the 51st minute, before midfielder Ezekiel Kesar notched a double from off the bench and fellow substitute Isaiah Thompson wrapped up the score summary in the 87th minute.

Attacking midfielder Real Gill, another Gold Cup 2023 player, assisted on Kesar’s first item while Corbin set up his second.

The TTPFL representatives had two Naparima College students in their starting team, winger Jabari Forbes and defender Josiah Cooper, while a third “Naps” player, midfielder Kanye Francis, played the final 13 minutes of the contest.
