T&T start Nations League away to Nicaragua, Wired868 looks at Caribbean fixtures

The Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team will start their 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League campaign away to Nicaragua on Friday 3 June 2022 and finish it at home on Monday 27 March 2023.

The tournament will take place in a round-robin format with each team playing its fellow group members twice and, in the end, there will be no doubt as to which is the best football nation.

The Soca Warriors were drawn with Nicaragua, St Vincent and the Grenadines and The Bahamas in Group C of League B, the second tier of the competition. Only the winner will be promoted to League A.

Trinidad and Tobago head coach Angus Eve described the group as ‘very difficult’, although he might have been generous to his future opponents.

The Warriors, ranked 103rd in the world by Fifa, have flattering records against Nicaragua (ranked 144th) and St Vincent and the Grenadines (ranked 175th). And, although their only match against 201st-ranked Bahamas ended in a goalless draw, the two-island republic dominated the affair and will start heavy favourites against a team comprising primarily beach footballers.
