Marcano tricks Sando, as Central move within three points of Pro League title

Versatile Bankers Insurance Central FC attacker Jason Marcano scored his second hattrick of the season yesterday evening, as the “Couva Sharks” whipped Club Sando 4-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium to move seven points clear at the top of the standings.

With just three games left in the 2015/16 season, Central rookie coach Dale Saunders is just three points away from his first Pro League title. And it carries a million dollar purse.

It will be Central’s second successive league trophy too.

The Sharks had a few hiccups recently and their cup form has been erratic. Bank on Central in the league though.

The dreadlocked Marcano led the way with a 35th item and two more after the interval for a natural hattrick while attacker Kadeem Corbin got Central’s fourth, three minutes into stoppage time.

Club Sando got a consolation item from tigerish midfielder Akeem Humphrey in the 70th minute.

All eyes will be on DIRECTV W Connection and Morvant Caledonia United on Sunday, as they contest the Lucozade Sport Goal Shield final from 6 pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Central have one hand on the big trophy though.
