King includes 15-year-old ‘Naps’ student, Adasa, in first T&T training squad

The Jones brothers—Alvin and Joevin—and Naparima College schoolboys Adasa Richardson and Jaydon Caprietta were among 24 players involved in coach Derek King’s first training session today, in his second stint as Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team interim head coach.

The Soca Warriors are preparing to face Bolivia away in a friendly international on 15 March, followed by two Fifa Series contests against Venezuela and Gabon on 27 and 30 March respectively in Uzbekistan.

King is expected to announce his final squad before the end of the week.

The Bolivia fixture is outside of the Fifa international match calendar, which means clubs are not obligated to release players for the game. However, King is expected to have some overseas-based players involved.

Today, King, assisted by Hutson “Baba” Charles and Ross Russell, got started with a local contingent at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

Fifteen-year-old Richardson, who spent the business-end of Naparima’s SSFL season as back-up to forward Riquelme Phillips, is the most eye-catching inclusion.

The form three student was a key member of National Under-17 Team coach Randolph Boyce’s set-up earlier this year.

National Under-20 players Derrel Garcia and Caprietta were also involved along with TTPFL Tier One players such as: Daniel David, Tyrese Bailey, Kathon St Hillaire, Jaheim Faustin, Isaiah Garcia, Jabari Brice, Alvin Jones, Joevin Jones, Darnell Hospedales and Josiah Trimmingham.

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president Kieron Edwards has not committed to King beyond this month. The Warriors start their 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League A campaign in September.
