The Soca Warriors will face South American neighbours, Venezuela, and African outfit, Gabon, in the Fifa Series 2006 at the Pakhtakor Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan next month.
Trinidad and Tobago’s meeting with Venezuela is confirmed for Friday 27 March while their clash with Gabon is on Monday 30 March. Both games kick off at 3pm (TT time).

Hosts Uzbekistan tackle Gabon and Venezuela respectively, on the match days of the round-robin exhibition competition.
The Fifa Series is an initiative by the global governing body to bring together nations from different confederations, who would not normally face each other on the field of play.
Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela have rarely met on the football field at men’s national senior team level, despite the close proximity of the two nations—with just six exhibition matches in 55 years.

The two-island republic have never defeated their neighbours, with three draws and as many defeats during that period.
The last outing between the two nations came on 14 October 2019 when Venezuela defeated then head coach Dennis Lawrence’s outfit 2-0 in Caracas.
Trinidad and Tobago and Gabon have never played each other in an international football fixture.
At present, Venezuela are the highest ranked nation in this ad-hoc group at 50th place, followed by Uzbekistan (52nd), Gabon (86th) and Trinidad and Tobago 97th) respectively.
The Soca Warriors’ trip to Uzbekistan will be preceded by a friendly against Bolivia at the Ramon Tahuichi Aguilera Stadium in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on 15 March.

Trinidad and Tobago and Bolivia met once before in an international friendly on 21 January when the Warriors, led then by coach Angus Eve, lost 5-0. Current coach Dwight Yorke would hope for a better showing.
The Fifa Series is expected to be Yorke’s last engagement as head coach, under his current contract.
Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president Kieron Edwards has not indicated yet whether the local football body wishes to renew Yorke’s contract—or if it can afford to do so.
