James, Serrant out, Briggs makes seven additions to T&T Women’s squad

Trinidad and Tobago Women’s National Senior Team coach Damian Briggs made seven changes to his travelling squad, as the Women Soca Warriors head to Panama for a six-day training camp in preparation for an upcoming 2026 Concacaf W Championship qualifier.

The Women Warriors are due to face Honduras in Tegucigalpa on 4 March.

Trinidad and Tobago need a win to keep pace with joint group leaders, El Salvador, while Honduras would be desperate for a result—after losing their opening group match to El Salvador, 3-0.

Briggs is without midfielder Asha James, who allegedly announced her retirement from the national setup at just 26-years-old. Ace teenaged midfielder Orielle Martin is out injured while Saudi Arabia-based attacker Maria-Frances Serrant is not included.

Goalkeeper Tenesha Palmer and defenders Shaunalee Govia, Kanika Rodriguez, and Sheneil Findley are also out—from the squad that trounced Barbados 5-0 on 1 December 2025.

In their places are goalkeeper Malaika Dedier, midfielders T’kaiya Dennis, Elise Franco, and Natalia Gosine, and defenders Javanah Moreno, Myla Schneider, and Emma Schneider.

Trinidad and Tobago close their W Championship qualifying campaign at home on 17 April, when they face El Salvador in a decisive contest.

A positive result in Honduras would put Briggs’ ladies in a good place to advance.

  1. Interesting read

  2. First, tuh start…is J-A-vanah Moreno. They keep butchering the woman name.
This squad is like buying ah brand new second hand Nike on Facebook Marketplace….but sold without shoelaces. What is keeping the team together? What systems can we genuinely run with this lineup?
Ah mean eh…we ALWAYS pray for the best outcomes…but when the squad lookin like ah SSFL All-Star vs EX-Nattys fete match…the only thing missing is ah case ah brewskies and some duck on ah three-stone eh?
This is not a knock on the TTFA leadership or this selection, but we really need to have a rethink on what these flagship teams mean for T&T’s women’s sport as a whole.
    Netball…one fiasco after the next…
Football…so much talent on the ground but the politics and personalities clashing against the fundamental principles of common sense.
Rugby…lehwe doh go dey? Hockey? Lehwe doh go dey neidah?
    What left? What ah missed?
