However, the young ladies remain second in the four-team standings as Antigua and Barbuda leapfrogged them into first spot—via goal difference—with a 5-0 mauling of Grenada.

On Thursday, which is the final match day of the group stage, Trinidad and Tobago must defeat Grenada and hope that Antigua and Barbuda lose or draw against Curaçao.

If Antigua and Barbuda also win, then coach Marlon Charles’ T&T squad need to score five goals more than the Antiguans put past Dutch-speaking islanders.

In Group D, the Trinidad and Tobago High Performance team also got their first win of the competition thanks to a stoppage time strike by Safeisha Ragguette against Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The High Performance team, which is effectively T&T’s reserve team, need a win over Guatemala on Thursday to top the group and snare the lone qualification spot available.

In the other Group D match today, Guatemala mustered just a solitary item in a 1-0 win over the United States Virgin Islands (USVI).
