“With regard to violent crime and more specifically gun violence, our plan—manage traffic reduce crime—can compliment other anti-crime initiatives, as it realises the first objective by engaging the most basic yet proactive policing.
“While no where in the world could police be everywhere all the time, with minimal resources we will create the reality that they are always somewhere all the time and their presence is meaningful.”
The following letter was sent by Fixin’ T&T to Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith and copied to the media:

Dear Commissioner,
As you know, the best way to combat crime at every level is through prevention. It is the efficient enforcement of law that creates order—thus the term law and order. The more we prevent, the less we will have to detect.
Effective law enforcement involves three components:
- People must know there is a good chance they will be caught.
- There must be swift and objective justice.
- Meaningful consequence.
With regard to violent crime and more specifically gun violence, our plan—manage traffic reduce crime—can compliment other anti-crime initiatives, as it realises the first objective by engaging the most basic yet proactive policing.
While no where in the world could police be everywhere all the time, with minimal resources we will create the reality that they are always somewhere all the time and their presence is meaningful.

The phrase ‘getting the guns off the streets’ is to be taken literally. FIXIN’ T&T remains ready, willing and able to work with our TTPS to get it done.
Let’s resume discussions to progress the realisation of our mutually shared objective: a safe, secure, efficient and productive Trinidad and Tobago.
Fixin T&T’s mission is the realization of good governance to achieve healthy, holistic, and fulfilling lifestyles for all citizens through the study, promotion, and furtherance of strong democratic institutions; sound infrastructure; integrity in public and corporate affairs; and a culture of respect by all for the laws and regulations of the country to create a safe, secure, efficient and productive Trinidad & Tobago.
“Compliment” vs. “complement.”
Nigel S. Scott What do you mean?
“With regard to violent crime and more specifically gun violence, our plan—manage traffic reduce crime—can compliment other anti-crime initiatives, as it realises the first objective by engaging the most basic yet proactive policing.
”Compliment” other anti-crime initiatives how, by telling them they look nice?
Oh. Now I get it, error in the original post. ?
It’s relatively minor but that sort of poor attention to detail can undermine one’s credibility.
They promised us a mass transit system.

I can give the same advice free, no charge, have been doing for years, the questions are: is it profitable for crime to be reduced? Is there a vested interest for some for crime to continue? What industries/enterprises would suffer if crime were to be reduced? Answer these and that is the reason why we are in this situation
Wait Fixin T&T is a state enterprise or a chamber of commerce? Men feel is jus so you get to meet Gory? Buh widdy neck

Crystal Ortiz Everything should be on the table and worth another look in an effort to turn the tide on crime. Can’t hurt.
Jo Ann yes.
He should have applied for the post of COP if he was so interested.
Kirk Waithe is trying to rehash an old plan of his from 2009 where, under the banner of Arrive Alive, he got a contract to employ civilians to work alongside police officers while they were out on patrol and other road exercises. The project lasted about 6 months. Paid the civilians chick peas while not providing proper resources to ensure the civilians’ safety and protection. Seems like he wants an opportunity to dip his fingers again. Unfortunately he doesn’t have his Gov’t partner to help him this time. So it seems as though he thinks that by making himself ultra visible, pretending to be a stout advocate against crime, he will be considered to pursue this project again. A very bad idea imo
Peter Corbie in short is about fixing himself.
steups! Trying to keep relevant.
What exactly is Fixin’ T&T’s role in anything?
It’s fixing t and t …they have no plan
I don’t understand what the plan is…
Maybe if we did, there would be no need for the meeting. 🙂

Kirk Waithe if we had that in a Word document, we could publish it along with the letter.
Kirk Waithe thank you!
