Manage traffic, reduce crime! Fixin’ T&T wants to discuss crime plan with CoP

“With regard to violent crime and more specifically gun violence, our plan—manage traffic reduce crime—can compliment other anti-crime initiatives, as it realises the first objective by engaging the most basic yet proactive policing.

“While no where in the world could police be everywhere all the time, with minimal resources we will create the reality that they are always somewhere all the time and their presence is meaningful.”

The following letter was sent by Fixin’ T&T to Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith and copied to the media:

Dear Commissioner,

As you know, the best way to combat crime at every level is through prevention. It is the efficient enforcement of law that creates order—thus the term law and order. The more we prevent, the less we will have to detect.

Effective law enforcement involves three components:

  1. People must know there is a good chance they will be caught.
  2. There must be swift and objective justice.
  3. Meaningful consequence.

With regard to violent crime and more specifically gun violence, our plan—manage traffic reduce crime—can compliment other anti-crime initiatives, as it realises the first objective by engaging the most basic yet proactive policing.

While no where in the world could police be everywhere all the time, with minimal resources we will create the reality that they are always somewhere all the time and their presence is meaningful.

The phrase ‘getting the guns off the streets’ is to be taken literally. FIXIN’ T&T remains ready, willing and able to work with our TTPS to get it done.

Let’s resume discussions to progress the realisation of our mutually shared objective: a safe, secure, efficient and productive Trinidad and Tobago.

  4. He should have applied for the post of COP if he was so interested.

  5. Kirk Waithe is trying to rehash an old plan of his from 2009 where, under the banner of Arrive Alive, he got a contract to employ civilians to work alongside police officers while they were out on patrol and other road exercises. The project lasted about 6 months. Paid the civilians chick peas while not providing proper resources to ensure the civilians’ safety and protection. Seems like he wants an opportunity to dip his fingers again. Unfortunately he doesn’t have his Gov’t partner to help him this time. So it seems as though he thinks that by making himself ultra visible, pretending to be a stout advocate against crime, he will be considered to pursue this project again. A very bad idea imo

  6. steups! Trying to keep relevant.

  7. What exactly is Fixin’ T&T’s role in anything?
