Pro League scores: Central concede ground after goalless draw with Morvant Caledonia

Defending Pro League champions Central FC slipped to four points behind joint leaders W Connection and North East Stars last night after a goalless draw against Morvant Caledonia United at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

The “Couva Sharks” have not conceded a single goal in four Pro League outings this season. But the result against the “Eastern Stallions” was their second draw this season, which left coach Dale Saunders’ team on eight points.

Central do have a game in hand against Stars, though, although the latter team are on 12 points and boasting of a 100 percent record at present.

For Morvant Caledonia, yesterday’s result—which snapped a two-game losing streak for coach Jamaal Shabazz—saw them climb one spot to sixth place in the 10-team table, as they swapped positions with Police FC.

It was a barren night for fans in Couva though as there was no goal between Defence Force and Point Fortin Civic either in the opening match of a double header.

Defence Force, who have not won since Monday 12 June, are eighth in the table with four points while Civic, who are yet to win this season, moved off the foot of the standings to ninth with two points.

At present, St Ann’s Rangers are at the bottom of the table with just a solitary point from their five outings this term.
