Tyrone nets hattrick as Jabloteh maul Civic, Scotland double paces Ma Pau Stars

San Juan Jabloteh remained on the heels of leaders and defending champions Central FC today with an emphatic 5-1 whipping of Point Fortin Civic in Pro League action at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

Tyrone Charles scored a hattrick for the “San Juan Kings” who have 15 points from six outings and trail the “Couva Sharks” by a solitary point. But it was another miserable afternoon’s work by Civic, who have conceded 16 goals in their last three games and have just one point so far this season.

Sylvester Teesdale got Civic’s consolation item, which was his second goal of this campaign.

In today’s other fixture in Couva, Ma Pau Stars got two goals in the final 10 minutes to better Club Sando 5-3 in a shootout at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

Former England Premier League forward Jason Scotland scored twice to pace Stars who also got a goal from veteran marksman Kerry Baptiste. Akeem Roach’s double for Sando turned out to be for a lost cause.

The Stars skipped one place to fourth as a result, as they now lead St Ann’s Rangers by goal difference.

There was action at the Morvant Recreation Ground too as Morvant Caledonia United struck deep into second half stoppage by defender Seon Thomas to nullify a Devorn Jorsling penalty kick.

It was only Morvant Caledonia’s sixth point this season although that was enough to move them to sixth, above Police FC, which Defence Force are second from bottom on the nine-team table with four points.
