Police FC stay unbeaten in Pro League after 2-2 tie with W Connection

Police FC twice took the lead yesterday but eventually had to settle for a 2-2 tie with W Connection in the final match of round two at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

The result means that the “Lawmen” remain unbeaten, just two games into the 2017/17 Pro League season while Connection are yet to register their first win this term.

Poacher Keion Wilson opened the scoring for Police after 21 minutes for his second goal from as many matches while the servicemen also benefitted from a second half own goal by W Connection and St Lucia international left wing back, Kurt Frederick.

But, on each occasion, the “Savonetta Boys” found an answer as midfielder Kevon Goddard mustered up a first half equaliser before Daniel Diaz closed the score summary in the 62nd minute.

Police’s tie means that defending champions Central FC are already the only team with a 100 percent record this season, as they followed up an opening day triumph against Connection with a similar 2-1 win over Club Sando last Friday.

Apart from Police and Central, Morvant Caledonia United and St Ann’s Rangers are the top flight’s only unbeaten teams so far.
