SSFL 25: Signal Hill scheduled for 6 games in 17 days, as final Premier fixtures revealed

Signal Hill Secondary’s Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier Division season is likely to come down to a spell of six games in the space of 17 days—between Friday 31 October and Sunday 16 November.

The marathon calendar is arguably the best that the SSFL Fixture Committee could do as they address a backlog of matches, caused primarily by schools struggling to secure flights between the two islands.

Signal Hill are the worst hit school, but not the only ones. During that same period, St Anthony’s College and Scarborough Secondary will play four times each.

Defending champions Fatima College have just two league matches rostered over that same period.

Notably, even then, the SSFL will still have at least two outstanding Premier Division matches on 16 November: Signal Hill would still have a home game against Trinity College East and an away trip to Malick Secondary.

Those postponed games are likely to be played as soon as the relevant teams are eliminated from the Intercol competition, which starts on Tuesday 11 November.

The SSFL Fixtures Committee also moved Round 15 of the Premier Division, the last match day in which all schools will be involved, from Tuesday 4 November to Monday 10 November.
