West Indies coach Daren Sammy suggested that he is looking to build momentum with the regional One-Day International (ODI) team, as he unveiled only one change in his 15-member squad to face Ireland and England.
The Maroon Men will play three ODIs against Ireland from 21-25 May and then another three against England from 29 May to 3 June.

Shimron Hetmyer is the only player from West Indies’ home series win against Bangladesh who will not travel to Britain. And his replacement, Jewel Andrew, featured in the previous series triumph over England, which was also in the Caribbean.
“These matches form a critical component towards the 2027 World Cup and there are signs of the team building consistency following the series sweep against Bangladesh and the win over England late last year,” Sammy told the CWI Media.
“We expect the conditions to be challenging but we are creating a culture and mindset which emphasise playing the brand of cricket that is taking us closer to some of our overall objectives.”
There will be two fresh faces in Sammy’s technical staff, though.
