Dear Editor: Griffith is a victim?! What about Jacobs, Diamond, Clinton and ‘Solo’ Morris?!

“[…] Now we have a national brouhaha about the legality of GG’s leave and whether he was told not to return. Forgive me but the degree of hypocrisy has reached Everest-like suffocation levels…”

The following Letter to the Editor discussing the public reactions to the issue of the appointment of a commissioner of police was submitted to Wired868 by Orson Rogers of Belmont:

The TTPS did not announce his death until 3 February.

Let’s put things in proper perspective!

Andrew Morris and Joel Balcon die in police custody during questioning in the Andrea Bharatt murder. GG reports that Morris ‘fell off a chair’.

Joel Jacobs, 43, Noel Diamond, 44, and Israel Moses Clinton, 27, were shot by members of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) during an ‘incident’ in June. The men were killed on June 27 during a search for the murderers of PC Allen Moseley, who was gunned down in Morvant earlier that day.

The incident involving the officers and the three men was caught on camera. The ‘incident’ is still under investigation by the Police Complaints Authority.

But now we have a national brouhaha about the legality of GG’s leave and whether he was told not to return. Forgive me but the degree of hypocrisy has reached Everest-like suffocation levels.

Which is more important: abuse that results in deaths or legalities?
