Two weeks since the Trinidad and Tobago national senior women’s team played to a nearly packed Hasely Crawford Stadium in the FIFA Play Off second leg match against Ecuador, the “Women’s Soca Warriors” are yet to receive match fees or per diems for their work.

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) declared historic ticket prices for the women team’s final 2015 World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador and boasted of a sold-out venue on December 2 in Port of Spain.
At admission fees of TT$200 (covered) and TT$100 (covered), the match was worth as much as TT$2.8 million in gross income while the TTFA also earned revenue from advertising billboards and broadcast rights. The lost earnings due to complimentary tickets and free children’s tickets for the uncovered stand would be deducted from this figure.
The Women Soca Warriors are due match fees of US$500 (TT$3,176) each plus per diems at US$100 (TT$635) a day.
“We haven’t been paid yet,” said Warriors captain Maylee Attin-Johnson. “They said they haven’t gotten all their receipts yet. How long does it take to count money?”
TTFA general secretary Sheldon Phillips said the women that they will not have to wait much longer. Phillips told Wired868 that an accounting statement would be released this evening while office staff has supposedly begun preparing cheques for the players and technical staff.

“The figures (from the Play Off match) are going to be sent out (to the media) today,” said Phillips. “We just sent it for a final run-through… We are writing those cheques (for the women’s senior team) out now.”
Phillips said the TTFA intends to use some of the money raised by the Women Warriors primarily to help develop the women’s game.

The history has been distrust with the m’gmt of football. That is not a now phenomenon. As we have seen Corp T&T is only willing to come on board when its the big time. But fund raising stuff will have to be football related except there’s little support for the game presently unless it is a high profile game. This costs a lot of money which the TTFA claims to not have so it seems as if they’re caught between a rock and a hard place.
And they boasting how much they made.
Apparently Kester Lendor is unemployed because according to him when someone works they shouldn’t be paid because other department needs to be paid as well.
Kestor, the TTFA has a schedule in advance, these are adults we speak of running an organisation, how can they not know? Where’s their fundraising drive? Corporate sponsorship? No one trusts them with their money that’s why they’ve found themselves in this situation.
Hopefully not Savi, hopefully not. The point i’m making is that it seems everyone is anxious for the TTFA to pay players and whatever but we have another team that cant go on a warm-up tour because of no funds. It’s probably a nightmare trying to figure out how to allocate that little bit of money and multiple teams preparing for competition.

Hear nuh, lets not forget that there are female U15, U17, and U20 teams in training also eh. Additionally male teams including a U23, so allyuh if the people see a small profit let them try work out how they gonna fund all these national teams nuh. I’m not defending the TTFA but i don’t know of any CEO, General sec or President that would not want a lil cushion in the kitty going forward with the myriad of teams and expenses in the next year.
I’m of the belief that the proceeds of that match, could cover the team’s salaries…….but maybe bonuses are being calculated for the administrators because they did such a good job at fulling the stadium to capacity!

I believe, one of the biggest problems is that the TTFA has very little or no funds banked. If they did have funds for doing business in account, the girls would have been paid the next day or at most within the week after the match.
The TTFA, like the formerly TTFF, is seriously in need of reorganization with a renewed business model and executive officers devoid of political ties but whose interest is in the betterment of the sport of T&T football.
Clearly TTFA accounting behaviors are not within contemporary accounting practices and are over-burdened by skulduggery, shenanigans, and politics.
I recommend that once the organization is revamped that it be a mandatory requirement to have quarterly reports publicized after an independent disinterested accounting firm audited the books, so that the people of T&T would regain confidence in the leadership, management, mission and vision of the TTFA.
