‘It was a pleasure working with you’; Wallace officially resigns from SSFL

“[…] It was a pleasure working with you and members of the executive over the last three years…”

The following is a letter of resignation by Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) president William Wallace, which was offered on Monday—in the wake of criticism over his stewardship of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA)—but formally tendered today:

Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation from my position as president of the Secondary Schools Football League.

It was a pleasure working with you and members of the executive over the last three years. I thank all the stakeholders; principals, coaches, administrators and sponsors for their unwavering support over the years.

I wish the League all success in the 2020 season and beyond. If needed I would be available to help in any way, so feel free to contact me at any time.

Yours sincerely,

William Wallace

Editor’s Note: William Wallace remains the president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA). He is succeeded at the helm of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) by first vice-president Phillip Fraser.

  1. I suppose the media do not count as a “stakeholder” so the heartfelt “thank you” for them will come in a separate communication. It better come soon because, as the Editor is careful to point out here, Mr Wallace wears more than one football hat.
