SSFL 25: J’Eleisha, Orielle get five goal hauls in high-scoring Girls weekend

Scarborough Secondary took advantage of rivals Signal Hill Secondary’s inactivity this weekend, as they crushed Mason Hill Secondary 15-0 to go one point clear atop the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Tobago Girls Championship Division.

Striker J’Eleisha Alexander, who was recently named in Trinidad and Tobago Women’s National Senior Team head coach Angus Eve’s first training squad, scored five times for Scarborough while Adrianna Fowler got four and Aisha Matthews got a hattrick.

Scarborough’s massive triumph was the most lopsided result of the weekend, but they were actually one of four schools to win by double figures.

Orielle Martin, another Women Soca Warriors call-up, also got five goals in a 10-0 win for Bishop Anstey High School East (BAHSE) over El Dorado East Secondary in the East Division.

The result saw BAHSE leapfrog San Juan North Secondary into second place, after the girls from Bourg Mulatresse fell 2-1 at home against St Augustine Secondary.

And, in the Central Zone, Christiana Joseph and Amayiah Thomas scored four each as Chaguanas North Secondary whipped Carapichaima East Secondary 12-0—to stay within striking distance of leaders Chaguanas South Secondary.

Chaguanas South downed Holy Faith Convent (Couva) 4-0.

And St Joseph’s Convent (Port of Spain) remain in a league of their own in the North Zone where they routed Holy Name Convent (Port of Spain) 11-0 to move five points clear of second placed East Mucurapo Secondary.

East Mucurapo have a game in hand, though.
