UNC Ministers prove irony is in good health

UNC Ministers Surujrattan Rambachan and Devant Maharaj have broken their silence over the supposedly callous removal of citizens from their territory on the grounds of progress.

Not over one hundred Debe villagers, mind you, but 14 St James market vendors who are to be moved into a food court by Port of Spain Mayor Louis Lee Sing.

“I urge you to curtail your decision to arbitrarily and unilaterally remove the longstanding vendors from their current positions,” stated Rambachan, in a letter to the Mayor referenced by the Trinidad Guardian.

The self-proclaimed sensitivity of the People’s Partnership towards Trinidad and Tobago citizens is debatable. But not even Dr Wayne Kublalsingh cannot dispute their fondness of irony—inadvertent or otherwise.
