Intercol 25: Fatima edge St Mary’s on penalties; St Anthony’s down Malick

Defending North Zone Intercol champions Fatima College are through to the 2025 final—but only just, after edging St Mary’s College 4-3 on penalty kicks, after a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Fatima will play St Anthony’s College in Tuesday’s North Intercol final at the same venue, after the “Westmoorings Tigers” defeated Malick Secondary 3-0 in yesterday’s other semifinal affair.

Just two weeks ago, Malick shocked St Anthony’s 2-1 win in Westmoorings—thanks to a stoppage time winner from Jahda Riley. Yesterday, St Anthony’s turned the tables on their northern rivals.

Goalless at the half, the Tigers had to wait until the 65th minute before utility player Karim Millington provided the breakthrough with the opening item. And two goals in three minutes by Abdul John and captain Mordecai Ford confirmed St Anthony’s progress.

Football fans had to wait until the second half for the first goal in the clash between Fatima and St Mary’s as well—but the ending provided far more twists and entertainment.

Midfielder Seth Hadeed opened the scoring for Fatima from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute, while a predatory double from striker Phillip Nelson put the Mucurapo Road-based school 3-1 ahead in the 81st minute.

  • St Mary’s College utility player Jaylon Roberts scores a corker during the North Zone Intercol semifinal against Fatima College at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on 21 November 2025.

However, a stunning strike by utility player Jaylon Roberts—a Trinidad and Tobago National Under-15 player—breathed fresh life into the “Saints” in the 84th minute and substitute Josiah Hunte levelled scores, four minutes later.

Fatima held their nerve from the spot, though, with substitute goalkeeper Jayden Lucas making a decisive save to ensure his team’s progress to the final.

There is a rescheduled fixture in east Trinidad today as Arima North Secondary host defending zonal champions San Juan North Secondary at the Arima North school ground on the Arima Old Road from 3.30pm.

The “Dial Dynamos” and the “San Juan Kings” were due to battle on Thursday, only for weather conditions to force a postponement.

The winner today will tackle St Augustine Secondary in the East Zone Intercol final at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Wednesday 26 November.
