Intercol 25: San Juan KO Hillview; ‘Pres’ (Chag), CIC and Chaguanas North win big

San Juan North Secondary ended Hillview College’s unbeaten 2025 run today, as the Premier Division outfit defeated the soon-to-be-Premier side 3-1 in East Zone Intercol quarterfinal action today.

Hillview, already the East Zone Championship and First Citizens National Big Five winners, will not make it a hattrick of titles as they could not get past the “San Juan Kings” in Bourg Mulatresse.

Full back Jaheem Danclar gave the hosts the lead while a bizarre own goal saw San Juan North double their advantage by the interval. Hillview pulled a goal back in the second half, but a fine strike by San Juan midfielder Isaiah Audain sealed his team’s triumph.

San Juan North will Arima North Secondary in the semifinal round, after the “Dial Dynamos” were handed a forfeiture by Holy Cross College in their fixture.

In another East Zone fixture, captain Giovanni Hospedales notched a hattrick on Warren Street as St Augustine Secondary held off El Dorado East Secondary 3-1 to advance to the semifinals. The “Green Machine” face the winner between Trinity College East and St George’s College in the next round.

Desaughn Daniel got a consolation goal for the “Blue Thunder” at St Augustine.

In other Intercol action, Central Zone Championship winners Presentation College (Chaguanas) romped to a 5-0 win over Cunupia High while Chaguanas North Secondary, paced by a Kerron George double, spanked Tabaquite Secondary 5-0.

Presentation (Chaguanas) and Chaguanas North will square off next Tuesday in one Central Zone semifinal, while Carapichaima East and West Secondary schools clash in the other.

There was one North Zone quarterfinal fixture today, which featured another lopsided contest as St Mary’s College, led by a pair of goals from National Under-15 midfielder Deron Blackman, spanked Blanchisseuse Secondary 6-0 at Fatima College grounds.
