Trinidad and Tobago made it three wins in a row with as many clean sheets this morning, as the young Soca Warriors whipped Barbados 3-0 in Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship action in Oranjestad, Aruba.
The outing, a rescheduled fixture due to Trinidad and Tobago’s late arrival on the Dutch-speaking island, closed off Group E of League B, which is Concacaf’s second tier division.
Trinidad and Tobago face Jamaica next from 4pm tomorrow in the second of two semifinal matches.

In truth, the semifinal matchup was confirmed even before kick off today and Trinidad and Tobago coach Densill Theobald took the liberty of omitting some key players from his starting line-up—including captain JaiMarley John, versatile flanker Reagan Rowe, and attacker Adasa Richardson.
Theobald made it clear beforehand that he wished to maintain their winning habit, though.
His young charges delivered, but they could not match their tidy, industrious showing in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Bermuda.

Despite the scoreline, the game was wide open for long periods with Trinidad and Tobago conceding almost as many opportunities as they created. And goalkeeper Christian Telfer was forced into a few important saves.
Trinidad and Tobago were more efficient finishers, though.
Defender Antoni James opened the score summary with a flicked backward header off a Kyen Anderson short corner kick routine in the 11th minute.
And lively forward Kevez Quintero grabbed a double within seven minutes of the second half. His first came off a penalty kick that he won himself, while his second goal was a close-ranged finish after Barbados goalkeeper Jayden Downes parried a shot from Jeremai Nanton.

It was not pretty, but it was mission accomplished for the young Trinidad and Tobago team.
Last August, Jamaica beat Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in a CFU Boys U-14 Series fixture at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet—a result that flattered the hosts, although the Reggae Boyz finished the game with 10 players.
Tomorrow, Theobald’s troops will have a chance to show how much they have grown since then.
