Warriors climb three spots to 96th in latest Fifa rankings

The Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior team continued their gentle rise up the Fifa rankings today, as they climbed three spots to 96th on the global table.

The Soca Warriors recorded a 2-1 win over the United States on Monday 20 November in Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal action at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

It was not enough to stop USA from advancing to the semifinals with a 4-2 aggregate win.
However, a competitive win over the best team in the confederation and the 11th ranked nation in the world was rewarded by the global organizing football body.
The Warriors were ranked 103rd in the world when Angus Eve took over as head coach in June 2021. They climbed two places to 101st after his first two years to at the helm, which ended at the 2023 Gold Cup.
However, a job extension followed by a rejuvenation of his playing squad seemed to agree with the Warriors as they progressed steadily since.

Eve and his troops have another chance to gain ground in the Fifa rankings next March, when they face Canada in a Copa America playoff in Texas.
