SSFL 26: Bailey gets another hattrick in big Fatima win; Signal Hill, “Naps”, “Pres Lions” and “Green Machine” purr

Talismanic Fatima College captain and forward Jahaem “Yellows” Bailey continued his red-hot form today with his third hattrick of the 2026 SSFL SporTT Premiership season, as the North Zone team trounced Arima North Secondary 5-0 at the Arima Velodrome.

Remarkably, Bailey has 12 goals in just six matches, with only one from the penalty spot. Today, he completed his work inside of 55 minutes, at which point Fatima coach Kerdyn Moe withdrew him—with one eye probably on Wednesday’s showdown with leaders St Mary’s College on Mucurapo Road.

St Mary’s still lead the Premiership Division (Arima are fourth and Fatima are sixth), but the “Saints” dropped points for the first time today, as they were held 1-1 by newly promoted team, Hillview College, on Serpentine Road in St Clair.

The Saints and Hillview traded first half own goals, with Hezekiah Charles inadvertently putting the hosts ahead in the 12th minute, before Ihsan Miller unfortunately returned the favour in the 24th minute.

While St Mary’s and Fatima maintained their respective spots in the table, Naparima College, Presentation College (San Fernando) and St Augustine Secondary were the weekend’s big movers, as they climbed five spots each on the back of emphatic wins.

Naparima’s man-child Adasa Richardson got his second hattrick of the season against Speyside Secondary in a 4-0 win for the defending champions at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

Richardson is the league’s second highest scorer with seven goals.

And Zahlon Bernard registered a hattrick for St Augustine, who outgunned Trinity College (Moka) 5-2 on Warren Street, St Augustine.

The “Pres Lions” managed a 3-0 win on the road to newly promoted Mucurapo West Secondary, with forward Tyrese Harding contributing two items.

Naparima, Presentation and St Augustine have seven points each and are separated by goal difference.

In another crucial result, Signal Hill Secondary manufactured a second straight stoppage time winner—this time, without a penalty—as they edged San Juan North Secondary 2-1 in Tobago, to move within a solitary point of leaders St Mary’s College.

Signal Hill playmaker Jediael Marcelle got the crucial goal for the title challengers.

At the other end of the table, St Anthony’s College got their second straight draw, although, again, it could have been much better.

On Wednesday, the “Westmoorings Tigers” had to settle for a 1-1 tie as Trinity College got a second half stoppage time equaliser from Jashon Forde. Today, St Anthony’s led twice but, once more, could not hold on—as Trinity College East midfielder Jakwon Howell got two levellers, with the second coming from the penalty spot in the 86th minute.

Queen’s Royal College (QRC) climbed out of the relegation zone today, as they fought back from a goal down to hold St Benedict’s College 1-1.

Six points separate bottom placed St Anthony’s College, at 17th spot, from sixth placed Fatima. The 2026 SSFL season is shaping up to be the most hotly contested in years.

St Mary’s College will hope to create some breathing space for themselves in midweek, when they travel to Fatima. If they cannot get a result there, they would be mindful of Signal Hill waiting to pounce—as the Tobagonians host QRC.
