Connection face must-win Champions League clash with Honduras Progreso

DIRECTV W Connection will be fighting to stay alive in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League tomorrow when they face Honduras champions, Honduras Progreso, from 8pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

Both teams lost their opening outings against Mexico outfit Pumas UNAM and need maximum points to have any chance of securing the lone qualification berth from the three team group.

Progreso lost 2-0 away to Pumas on 18 August while Connection fell 4-2 at home to the Mexican visitors on 2 August.

The “Savonetta Boys” will again be steered by captain Hughtun Hector, who was selected on the Champions League’s all star XI for his efforts in their opening fixture.


The Connection squad also includes Soca Warriors defender Daneil Cyrus, Suriname winger Dimitrie Apai, St Kitts and Nevis duo Gerard Williams and Trinidad and Tobago National Under-20 attacker Isaiah Hudson.

Tickets cost TT$80 while while children under-12 are half price.
