Intercol 25: ‘Green Machine’ seal East final spot, as rain delays Arima North and San Juan

St Augustine Secondary booked their place in the East Intercol final today, with a straightforward 2-0 win over second division outfit St George’s College at Warren Street in St Augustine.

On Monday, St George’s stunned Premier Division outfit Trinity College East on penalties in Trincity. However, they could not produce an encore in St Augustine.

Attacker Donte Gordon put the “Green Machine” ahead after 16 minutes before midfielder Kylon Williams got an insurance item in the 20th minute, and the hosts never looked back.

St Augustine will meet the winner between Arima North Secondary and defending champions San Juan North Secondary, whose meeting was postponed today due to the inclement weather.

There is no date yet for the rescheduled knockout fixture between the “Dial Dynamos”, the 2023 East Intercol winners, and the San Juan Kings, who have appeared in every East Intercol final since the pandemic.

Yesterday, Carapichaima East Secondary and Chaguanas North Secondary advanced to the Central Zone Intercol final while the North Zone’s final four teams face off at the Hasely Crawford Stadium tomorrow.
