SSFL 25: SJC (POS) clinch Big 5 spot; Five Rivers rout St Augustine 19-1

St Joseph’s Convent (Port of Spain) booked their place in the SSFL Girls Big Five competition today, after a 11-0 romp against Diego Martin Championship in North Zone Championship action.

St Joseph’s Convent, the reigning National Intercol champions, cannot be caught by second place East Mucurapo Secondary now, as there is a seven-point gap between the two schools with just two games remaining.

East Mucurapo downed Tranquillity Secondary 6-0 in today’s other North Zone fixture, although that result proved to be merely academic.

Meanwhile, in the East Zone, Five Rivers Secondary moved within a point of clinching the North Zone title and a Big Five spot with a 19-0 win over St Augustine Secondary.

Five Rivers, paced by the national attack duo of Hackeemar Goodridge and Jayda Herbert, who scored a remarkable 62 goals this season from five matches—with just one goal conceded.
