Seventeen-year-old former Arima North Secondary football Kimani Dyer was shot dead this morning—allegedly while hunting with friends off Demerara Road in Arima.
Dyer and Keeshawn Edwards were both killed while a third member of their group, Jaden Singh, allegedly told police that all three were attacked by gunmen while hunting. Singh was also shot.

The Dial Dynamos won 2-0.
Dyer was shot dead on 31 July 2025.

Dyer, who was from a poor family and lived in Mt Zion off Pinto Road, Arima, was awaiting his CSEC results. He was a friendly young man with no disciplinary issues at Arima North.
Dyer, a friendly young man with ambitions of being a football star, was popular with teachers as well as coaches and players within the football programme.
A skillful, busy attacker who could operate on either flank, Dyer represented the Dial Dynamos at Under-16 level in 2022 and 2023 and won the 2023 East Zone League and Knock Out trophies with his school.

Zwade Alleyne (front row, second from left), Ezekiel Ramdialsingh (third player from left) and Kimani Dyer (back row, third player from right) all played key roles in the affair.

Dyer, who also represented the Tinto Sporting Academy team, is now the third member of Arima North’s successful 2023 Under-16 team to be shot dead this year—all killed just minutes away (or less) from their respective homes.
Ezekiel Ramdialsingh, 17, was murdered in La Horquetta on 15 April, just a few minutes’ drive from his Manuel Congo home. And Zwade Alleyne, also 17, was shot in the head outside of his Maloney home on 10 May and later succumbed to his injuries.
The Arima North Secondary football programme extended condolences to the family and loved ones of Kimani Dyer on its social media pages.
