T&T pitted against USA, Haiti and S/Arabia at 2025 Gold Cup

The Soca Warriors will face USA in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, which will be their third meeting in the last four editions of the competition.

The two nations will square off on the opening match day of Group D at the PayPal Park in San Jose on Sunday 15 June.

The remaining outfits in Group D are Haiti and guest nation, Saudi Arabia. The best two team advance to the knockout rounds.

The Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team were pitted against USA at the 2019 and 2023 Gold Cup tournaments. On both occasions, the Warriors lost 6-0 under coaches Dennis Lawrence and Angus Eve respectively.

The Warriors did win our last competitive fixture against the North American powerhouses though, which came in the Nations League.

Trinidad and Tobago, led by Eve, triumphed 2-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, with goals from Reon Moore and Alvin Jones—but were still eliminated on goal aggregate.

For incumbent Dwight Yorke, the matches against USA, Haiti and Saudi Arabia follow on the heels of a 2026 World Cup qualifier away to Costa Rica on 10 June, which makes it easily his most challenging period as a national coach.
