Barbados-born England international fast bowler Chris Jordan could make his Republic Bank CPL debut tomorrow at the Queen’s Park Oval, after agreeing to join the Trinbago Knight Riders.
The 35-year-old Jordan, who migrated to England as a teenager, replaces injured USA allrounder Ali Khan for the remainder of the 2024 season. And his first CPL match could be against the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Wednesday night.
At present, the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders both have six points from four CPL outings, although GAW are ahead—and third—based on net run rate.
GAW also have a change to their roster with Australian leg spinner Nathan Sowter replacing captain Imran Tahir. However, Tahir’s absence is reported to be a temporary one and he is expected to be available in another 10 days.
Republic Bank CPL action resumes from 7pm tonight with leaders Barbados Royals facing table proppers Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The Royals have eight points from five matches while STKNP have two points from seven games.
Saint Lucia Kings, who have eight points from seven matches but an inferior net run rate to the Barbados-based franchise, resume their own campaign at 10am on Saturday when they face the current leaders in Providence, Guyana.
