TTSL round-up: QPCC go top after last gasp Gardiner winner against Club Sando

The Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) FC took advantage of a stumble by leaders FC Santa Rosa to move two points clear at the top of the table this evening, after a 2-1 win over lowly Club Sando at Long Circular Road, Dibe.

Former Trinidad and Tobago international midfielder Sean De Silva put the “Parkites” ahead in the 33rd minute, with his first item since returning from trials in Argentina. However, Jamal Burke conjured up a 76th minute equaliser for Club Sando, who are 11th in the 14 team standings.

QPCC got the last word though, as Kern Gardiner grabbed an injury team winner to put the Parkites back in the TTSL driver’s seat.

Santa Rosa, who drew 1-1 with third place Cunupia FC on Friday, now slip to second place.


Late goals were in fashion today as Jovon Vincent scored in the third minute of second half stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw for RSSR away to Matura ReUnited, while Darron Alexis’ item in the second minute of second half stoppage time second a point for 13th place San Fernando Giants in their bottom of the table clash with Metal X Erin FC.
