Tweet from @GeorgeBovell:
“Coach arrived. He finished his 1st meeting in time for an inspirational lunch. Getting ready to head to the pool for the final tune up.”
It can’t be half-bad to have the Minister of Sport in your support staff.
Presumably, celebrated Trinidad and Tobago swimmer George Bovell had a much better lunch than the national football players did when they were stranded in St Kitts and Nevis due to a Tropical Storm and desperately awaiting government funding that never came.
Maybe Bovell and Roberts can discuss the State’s plans to construct a pool in his honour over dinner.
Meanwhile, the “Soca Warriors” are still awaiting some match fees and stipends for their successful 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign. At present, Trinidad and Tobago has 18 fit football players at the 2012 Caribbean Cup finals in Antigua after travelling short of the allotted 23 members due, allegedly, to financial constraints.
If Roberts has any spare time and per diem in Istanbul, perhaps the Swim Minister can see about that too.
