Subway to Glory: Which of the bottom six SSFL schools will dodge relegation this season?

Four Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Sportt Premiership teams will be relegated to the Championship Division at the end of this season with three squads coming up, as the SSFL top flight reverts from 17 to 16 schools for 2027. And it is a proper battle to stay upstairs.

With two games remaining, the picture looks bleak for table proppers Trinity College East, who trail 13th placed San Juan North Secondary by five points. Mucurapo West Secondary, second from bottom, have eight points with two games left—but the problem is that one of those matches is away to fourth placed St Benedict’s College.

That leaves 15th placed St Augustine Secondary (8 points, 3 games left), 14th placed Trinity College (Moka) (9 points, 3 games and an appeal for an improper ground left), 13th placed San Juan North (10 points, 3 games left), and 12th placed Queen’s Royal College (12 points, 3 games left) with the best chances of avoiding the drop. Only two from those four teams will remain in the Premiership for 2027.

Name one school from those strugglers who you think will avoid relegation this season—and why. This is Question Five in our Subway challenge to Wired868 readers, and there is a $100 gift certificate in it for you.

Here is how to take part: give us a response between 80 and 300 words as a comment on this post; feel free to think outside of the box; be fresh! The top answers will be shortlisted by Wired868, with the winner selected at random. There will be one winner per question.

You can justify your response using whichever metric you choose—but you have to explain your choice. The deadline for submissions is 8pm on Wednesday 4 November, and the winner will be announced on Thursday 5 November.
