Signal Hill Secondary will start Round 13 of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Sportt Premiership Division in second place, after being awarded a 3-0 win over Trinity College by the SSFL Disciplinary Committee.
The two teams were scheduled to meet at Moka on Saturday 10 October, but the game never kicked off. Visitors Signal Hill Secondary and referee Timothy Derry were both dissatisfied with the field markings on the day.

Trinity retorted that there was heavy rainfall on that afternoon, which washed away some of the marking—through no fault of the host school. They also noted that a CNC3 broadcast from the venue showed that the field was marked.
A representative from the North Zone school insisted that they will appeal the Disciplinary Committee’s decision.
Incidentally, the hearing was initially framed as one to “discuss a matter relating to abandonment of game”, which hinted that Signal Hill might be asked to defend their position in not taking the field.
The final ruling suggested that the Disciplinary Committee took an entirely different view of what transpired. However, no explanation was given for the eventual decision.
It would cost the “Moka Lions” $1,000 to refer the matter to the Appeals Committee. If successful, they will be reimbursed.
In the meantime, Signal Hill pulled within two points of leaders St Mary’s College and three clear of Naparima College, Fatima College and St Benedict’s College, who are ranked third to fifth respectively.
Trinity Moka are 15th in the 17-team standings, with the bottom four schools destined for relegation to the second tier Championship Division. They trail 13th place San Juan North Secondary by just a solitary point, though.
The Moka Lions are away to Speyside Secondary on Wednesday, while Signal Hill host Arima North Secondary in Tobago.
