The new Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) committee, led by returning president Brian Lewis, was installed this morning by President Anthony Carmona ORTT SC at the Office of the President, St Ann’s.
The committee, which has exactly six men and six women, was hailed as the first gender equal executive body in the TTOC’s history.
Former 1986 Miss World Giselle La Ronde-West and NAAA president Ephraim Serrette were among the newcomers to the executive committee along with Curtis Nero, Nadine Khan-Seemongal, Racquel Moses and Reyah Richardson.
La Ronde-West is Angostura’s public relations and communications manager, Khan-Seemongal is a senior vice-president at Valdez and Torry International, Nero is CARDI’s chief financial officer and Moses is a former president of Invest TT.
La Ronde-West still competes in karate while Khan and Nero were heavily involved in basketball and rugby respectively.
The re-elected ExCo members were Dr Terry Ali, Diane Henderson, Annette Knott, Dave Williams, Wendell Constantine and Lewis.
The Lewis-led Executive will serve for the 2017-2020 Olympic Quadrennial.
