Central clobbers Jabloteh; Point guns down Rangers

Central FC handed San Juan Jabloteh its first league defeat of the season on Tuesday evening; and it was a resounding one. Doubles from 2009 Under-20 World Cup players Qian Grosvenor and Sean De Silva paced the “Couva Sharks” to a 4-0 win over Jabloteh at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.

Central remains top of the Digicel Pro League table while Jabloteh, an early frontrunner, slipped to fifth spot.

Jabloteh will hope for a better result on Friday when the “San Juan Kings” challenge Point Fortin Civic for the Toyota Classic crown from 8 pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

The Point Fortin team, which is second from bottom in the league, started the 2014-15 season poorly but took full advantage of a meeting with table propper, St Ann’s Rangers, to cruise to a 4-1 triumph with Jamille Boatswain again leading the score summary with a double in Couva.

Defending champion cub, DIRECTV W Connection, remained within striking distance of Central with a 2-1 win over Defence Force while third placed Police FC and fourth placed Caledonia AIA battled to a 1-1 draw.
