Local fashion icon Claudia Pegus was held up by a knife-toting bandit on Sunday night outside her Fort George, St James home and robbed of $2,000 in cash as well as mobile phones, iPads and a laptop.
The bandit then asked for a lift to Mooneram Street, St James, which Pegus felt obliged to grant. There is no evidence that he lives on Mooneram Street but, since we are probably not discussing a criminal mastermind, the St James Police might get lucky by interviewing residents and taxi drivers.
Wired868 is relieved that the fashion pioneer is safe but wonders if robbery by knife without getaway car is a sign that lawmen are making things difficult for criminals or an indication of a worsening economy.
