Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president Kieron Edwards trumpeted the appointment of Angus Eve as Women’s National Senior Team head coach today, after more than 18 months of inactivity for the programme.
Eve, who was fired as Men’s National Senior Team head coach by the Edwards-led TTFA in July 2024, was today repackaged as the person to “elevate” the Women Soca Warriors.

“We believe Angus brings the right blend of experience, leadership, and passion to guide our women’s national team into this important new chapter,” Edwards told the TTFA Media. “His deep understanding of the game in Trinidad and Tobago give us confidence that he can inspire and elevate our women’s football to the next level.”
Eve’s return to international football closes the door on former head coach Richard Hood, who sat in that position when Edwards’ slate was voted into office on 13 April 2024.
In the 18 months since Edwards’ Team Progressive took control of the local football body, the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s National Senior Team have not played a single game.
(There was one three-nation women’s tournament in Curaçao in May 2024, which Hood attended with 14 teenagers so that the trip might be funded from the Fifa High Performance Programme budget rather than the TTFA.)

In June 2025, ace Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Asha James remarked, publicly, that: “is as if we don’t exist”.
Three months after James’ outburst and barely a month before the Women’s National Senior Team’s first Concacaf W Qualifier, the Edwards-led TTFA responded with the appointment of Eve as head coach.
“As an Association, we intend to do much more to lift the women’s game,” said Edwards. “Going forward there will be a lot of emphasis on development on all levels. We want to ensure our home-based players are well exposed, while at the same time expanding the pool with overseas-based talent.
“We will also be introducing a modern approach, assembling an experienced technical staff, and creating the right conditions for growth. Already, we have agreed to two international friendlies at home with Jamaica which were discussed during our recent visit to Kingston for the Men’s World Cup Qualifier.

“[…] These will provide valuable exercises early on for the programme under Angus.”
Eve, who took the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team to two Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments and a Nations League quarterfinal berth, will be assisted by Trinidad and Tobago Boys National Under-15 team head coach Densill Theobald.
Theobald recently relinquished roles at Naparima College and Defence Force.
Eve, incidentally, is also the current head coach of “Naps”. He also recently served as Montserrat head coach for a single Fifa match window.

Naps won 3-1.
