All motorists travelling along the east-west corridor can utilise the Priority Bus Route until 6am on Saturday 18 February, after a directive by Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan.
The permitted use was twice extended by the Ministry, so as to give WASA time to complete remedial work.
The decision was confirmed by Ministry of Works and Transport communications officer, Kizzie Ruiz. The move itself is a response to heavy traffic on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway due to a burst water main near to the Beetham Gardens, which created a large pothole.
Ruiz confirmed that the Ministry of Works and Transport have made the entire PBR available to motorists—regardless of whether they are travelling in an easterly or westerly direction.

Editor’s Note: The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise that authorisation has been granted to ONLY LIGHT MOTOR VEHICLES to use the PBR from Morvant Junction to Vierra Street, POS, until 1PM on Saturday 18 February.
Motorists proceeding west on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway are advised to use the NP Overpass or Flyover to access the Lady Young Road if their final destination is west of the Lighthouse.
The depression in the roadway has been repaired. However, the extension of the use of the PBR, between Morvant Junction and Vierra Street POS is necessary to facilitate repaving works.
