TOP down and Toppin over

Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP) chairman George Stanley Beard suggested politicians on the sister isle are held to loftier ethical standards when he insisted that Tobago Development Minister Vernella Alleyne-Toppin “must be made to account” for her loose use of a State-issued credit card.

The TOP has already issued press releases and made several public statements on the matter; nary a word to the Minister, though. Beard said she would be officially informed “in due course”. Tobago might not be so different after all.

Meanwhile, the Minister got a ringing endorsement from Lenn Toppin, who said that fraud was not his wife’s style.

Not that Wired868 expected to hear: “A secret, reckless financial splurge with someone else picking up the bill? Oh, that definitely sounds like my honey bunny.”
