Hillview College savoured a moment of top flight history this afternoon, as they secured their first ever Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premiership Division win—with a 5-2 triumph away to St Anthony’s College in Westmoorings.
Hillview and St Anthony’s were the only teams in action today, as they met in a rescheduled fixture. Both schools were looking to shake off opening round defeats as well.

In the end, Hillview were emphatically the happier of the two outfits—although it did not start the way.
For the second time in three days, Hillview conceded within the opening 10 minutes. On this occasion, St Anthony’s Giovanni Bartholomew was the player to benefit from some careless defending.
However, unlike in their 4-3 loss to Arima North on Saturday, Hillview were able to go through the gears in Westmoorings—as a Daniel Lewis penalty drew them level before attackers Jahmarley Ellis and Cristiano Hinds sent them into the break with a two-goal cushion.
Naparima’s 7-0 triumph over Trinity College remains the biggest win of the 2026 Premiership season so far.

And another Lewis penalty plus a Hezekiah Charles item meant that Malique Marshall’s 70th minute penalty for the hosts was no more than a consolation item.
Hillview are the second newly promoted team to win this season, after undefeated Speyside Secondary downed Signal Hill Secondary and St Anthony’s.
Mucurapo West Secondary, who are also making their debut in the top flight, drew 2-2 with St Augustine Secondary on the weekend but are still hunting their maiden Premiership win.
Action resumes on Wednesday with Hillview away to Fatima College on Mucurapo Road, while St Anthony’s face fellow northerners, St Mary’s College, at Serpentine Road.
Defending champions Naparima College are away to 2025 National Intercol runners-up, Signal Hill, while first place Speyside tackle Arima North Secondary—both unbeaten at the time of writing—at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar.
